I’m surprised ITD has been disqualified. NCC’s bid was still 15.46%, 15.91% and 9.55% higher than BMRCL’s estimate for each package, which makes award of contracts difficult, especially for packages 1 and 2 which cities are close to.

BMRCL will certainly invite the management of NCC for talks in the coming weeks and I look forward to seeing the outcome. I don’t see this title in a time consuming retainer, but you never know.

NCC’s prior experience in Bengaluru includes construction of the second phase extension of the 5.799 km Yelachenahalli-Silk Institute of Green Line which opened in January 2021 to engage in some minor civil work Anjanapura Depot still going on.

Coming back to Phase 2B, tender notices for the following packages are still pending:

  1. Doddajala Depot (“Airport Depot”) at Trumpet Interchange
  2. Expansion of Baiyapanahalli Depot
  3. Construction of Sky Garden and KIA Terminal Stations (from BIAL)

1 and 2 can be combined into one civilian package as they would have 1 Detailed Design Consultant.
