NCC wins civil contract worth ₹2,167 crore for Phase 2B of Bangalore Metro project

Bengaluru, India (Urban Transport News): Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has opened the financial bids for three civil contracts for the Airport Metro Corridor of Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2B on September 14, 2021. As per information NCC Limited emerged as the lowest bidder for all the three contracts.

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(A)

The scope of work under this contract includes the construction of elevated structures (viaducts and stations) and eight elevated metro stations with a length of 11.003 km (including 281,000 m viaduct beyond Phase 2A) from chainage 0.000 m to 10072,000 m. Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagavara, Veerannapalya and Kempapura including 650.00 m link line connectivity to Baiyappanahalli, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B) Huh.

According to BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 639.95 crore. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

  • NCC Limited: Rs 739.04 crore (L1)
  • SNC-CVCC JV: Rs 753.86 crore (L2)
  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 842.55 crore (L3)

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(B)

The scope of work under this contract includes the construction of elevated structures (viaducts and stations) with a length of 11.678 km from chainage 10072.00 m to 21500,000 m and five elevated metro stations. Hebal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka and Bagalur Cross, consisting of 250 m pocket track, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B).

According to BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 645.30 crore. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

  • NCC Limited: Rs 747.99 crore (L1)
  • SNC-CVCC JV: Rs 760.16 crore (L2)
  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 811.16 crore (L3)
  • GR Infraprojects Ltd: Rs 858.73 crore (L4)

Contract Package: Phase 2B/P2/69(C)

The scope of work under this contract includes the construction of an elevated structure (viaduct and station) with a length of 15.011 km and two elevated metro stations from chainage 21500.000m to 36511.000m. Bettahalasuru and Doddajala, including road widening utility diversion and allied works of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-2B. This length includes about 718.18 meters cut and covered portion in front of Yelahanka Air Force Station of Bangalore Metro Rail Project (Phase-2B).

According to BMRCL, the estimated value of the work was Rs 620.88 crore. The financial position of each bidder is as under:-

  • NCC Limited: Rs.680.21 crore (L1)
  • SNC-CVCC JV: Rs.692.27 crore (L2)
  • Afcons Infrastructure Ltd: Rs 809.11 crore (L3)
  • GR Infraprojects Ltd: Rs 826.93 crore (L4)
  • ITD Cementation India Limited: Disqualified in technical round.

Tender Notices (NITs) for the above contract packages were called in July 2020 and technical bids were opened in June 2021.
