Chennai, India (Urban Transport News): Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) opened the financial bids for two more civil contract packages of Phase 2 (Packages CP-10-EV-03 and C5-ECV-02) on 6th September, 2021, where Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) The lowest and only bidder came out.
The scope of work under the contract package CP-10-EV-03 includes construction of approx. Assisi Nagar to CMBT (Except underground section from return ramp to Nathamuni ramp) and cut and cover section, 10.2 km elevated viaduct to depot approach, elevated ramp and 11 elevated stations. 1.5 km and Venugopal Nagar Underground Station, with verification of design suitability for construction, including architectural finishes, plumbing works, signage and all allied works in Corridor 5.
Whereas the scope of work under the contract includes construction of an elevated viaduct approx. Between CMBT Metro Station (Except Station) and Pujuthivakkam Metro Station ((Ch: 16178 m to 19296 m, Ch: 22962 m to 30199 m, Ch: 31178 m to 31241 m and Ch: 31657 m to 33710 m)) 12.431 km length includes special spans and construction of 12 no. Anaj Bazar, Sai Nagar Bus Stop, Elango Nagar Bus Stop, Mugalivakkam, DLF IT SEZ, Satya Nagar, CTC, BUTT Road, Elevated Stations at Alandur, Adambakkam, Vanuvampet and Puzhuthivakkam and Mugalivakkam to MIOT Hospital, Integrated Highway Grade Separator for Vehicles Underpass at Vanuvampet and all allied works in Corridor-5 of Chennai Metro Rail Project (Phase-II).
Tender notices for the above contract packages were issued in January/February 2021 and technical bids were opened in July 2021.
