ITD Cementation India Limited today emerged as the lowest bidder for the civil construction and tunnel contracts for the 10 km underground package UG-01 and Power House Ramp – Light House Station connecting UG-02 of Chennai Metro Line-4.

CMRL was invited tenders for both these packages of 118.9 km Chennai Metro Phase 2 By the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in February 2021 a . Project with a time frame of 48 months financed through $780 million (approx. Rs.5890 crore) loan,

Package UG-01

This stretch of 5.15 km connects Bharathidasan Road station to Lighthouse station through 5 stations with twin tunnels. This package includes construction of four of these at Bharathidasan Road, Alwarpet, Kutchi Road and Light House.

Thirumalai station will be constructed (interchange of Line-3 and Line-4) via Line-3 Package UG-04Which was won by Larsen & Toubro. A planned station on Foreshore Road is no longer functioning.

Package UG-02

This 4.877 km stretch with twin tunnels connects a ramp west of Kodambakkam flyover station to Boat Club station, which includes Kodambakkam Flyover (formerly Meenakshi College), Kodambakkam, Panagal Park (with a crossover), Nandanam and Boat Club (Adyar). Gate Jn) has 5 stations. , One of the planned stations in Knutson Park is no longer operating.

As with the other Phase 2 packages, the CMRL estimate for both packages is also unknown, so I cannot gauge how ITD Chem is bidding and what the next steps look like.

If this is not given again, the potential contractors for all packages of 26.09 km Line-4 (Poonamalli – Light House) are now known:
